Escalation policy

Escalation policy defines the order in which members/teams are alerted when an incident occurs. An escalation policy is a collection of triggers. A trigger is comprised of two things:

  • When is the trigger activated

  • Who to alert when the trigger is activated

You can define your organization alerting policy using the escalation policy. For e.g., as per your organization, member A is alerted when an incident occurs. If the incident is not closed within 4 hours, then team A is alerted and if the incident is opened for more than a day, than team B is alerted. You can define this using an escalation policy as follows:
