Invoke a listener
There are two ways to invoke a listener
Using REST API
From the web application using "Trigger Incident" option
Using REST API
Each listener can be invoked using a specific REST API endpoint. You can either invoke the REST API directly or integrate the REST API further into various monitoring solutions. You can find instructions how to invoke the REST API and integrate it with monitoring such as Datadog, AWS, and SNS on the listener by choosing the "View Code" option. You can also specify the preferred way to invoke the listener while creating the listener and the relevant instructions are shown to you once the listener is created. You can use this listener with other sources as well in the future although it is recommended to create multiple listeners for multiple sources.
Trigger Incident
You can also trigger a listen manually by using the "Trigger Incident" option on the listener. Tap on the three-dot menu icon in front to the listener name to access the listener menu. You can specify some notes as well when you trigger the incident which are shown to the recipients of the incident. This option is useful in cases when a dispatcher alerts the right set of people based on the incident.
